Christmas Village Toy Store Volunteer Opportunities



Every aspect of the Christmas Village Toy Store is dependent on volunteers. There are a variety of ways to get involved! See below for a list of volunteer opportunities and click on the SERVE NOW button to sign up today.

Wish List Distribution

The weekend of November 28th and 29th, and December 5th and 6th before or after the Sunday Morning Services at your church (time commitment ~2 hours). After an announcement is made during the service, volunteers distribute “wish lists” which represent specific age groups and give gift suggestions for our donors.

Toy Collection

Dec 12th and Dec 13th before and after Services at your church (time commitment ~ 3 hour shifts). Volunteers collect the toys that are being donated (and thank the donor—this is the key!) and distribute the toys to the pricing stations (if your church is going to do Toy Pricing).

Toy Pricing

Dec 12th, Dec 13th afternoon and Dec 14-19 evenings (time commitment ~3 hour shifts). Volunteers Google the retail price of the gift, enter the retail price into the database and it calculates the discounted price and then creates a new price tag for the item.

Toy Delivery

Dec 12th and Dec 13th afternoon (time commitment ~3 hour shifts) volunteers box and possibly help deliver gifts to Warehouse 242 store location.

Store Set Up / Breakdown

Dec 14-16, 19th evenings (time commitment ~3 hour shifts). Volunteers assemble shelving, decorate the store, and stock shelves with toys.

Volunteering at the Store

Dec 17-19

Parking Team - Directing cars in and out of the parking lot.

Greeters -Welcoming groups of 5 into the store and orienting them to the store.

Floor Attendant - This person is assigned to an aisle, keeping it clean and helping customers look for specific items.

Check Out Team – Organizing purchases and removing price tags before the customer gets to the cashier.

Café - Serving customers sweets and coffee after they shop.

Gift Wrap – We offer free gift wrap on 2 items.

We also have a pricing team working on toys donated late that need to be priced.

Can my child serve with me at the Toy Store?

If you have children, we kindly ask that you find other arrangements for them during your shift.

However, if you chose to bring your child (age 6+) to serve with you it must be in the following positions ONLY: Parking Team, Café, Entry/Exit Greeters.

Please keep these things in mind:

1. Be mindful of your child's capacity to serve the full length of time with you
2. Your child must serve alongside you—they cannot serve on their own
3. Be sure to explain the purpose of the store in advance to your child
4. Childcare will not be provided
